1.
Individual
Psychotherapy
Counselling for young people who have experienced emotional distress, trauma, or attachment disruption requires a safe, relational, and trauma-informed approach. Many children in residential care have experienced loss, instability, neglect, or adverse childhood experiences, which can impact how they regulate emotions, form relationships, and respond to stress.
2.
Residential Therapeutic Support
This service provides a whole-home therapeutic approach, supporting both young people and staff to create a stable, consistent, and supportive environment. It includes monthly team consultation, MDT input, bespoke therapeutic support for each young person, reflective support for staff, ongoing advice, and trauma-informed training delivered across the year.
Together, these elements create a consistent therapeutic framework that strengthens relationships, supports staff confidence, and promotes placement stability.
3.
Training
This training equips residential staff with practical, trauma-informed strategies to better support young people with emotional and attachment difficulties. It focuses on understanding emotional regulation and triggers, recognising how past trauma impacts behaviour and relationships, responding effectively to attachment-related challenges, and promoting consistency and stability within placements.

About me
With over 12 years’ experience working within residential children’s homes, I bring a deep understanding of the complexities, pressures, and rewards of supporting young people with challenging needs.
Alongside my background as a counsellor and therapeutic clinician, I offer a practical, trauma-informed approach that supports both young people and the staff who care for them.
My aim through FMH Therapeutic Services is to help create stable, nurturing environments where young people feel understood and staff feel confident, supported, and equipped to manage the challenges of day-to-day care.
