About Me
I am a qualified integrative counsellor and psychological therapist with over 20 years’ experience working with children and young people across residential, educational and community settings. I have a BA (Hons) in Integrative counselling and an MA in Psychology. I have provided dedicated therapeutic support to young people experiencing emotional, trauma and attachment-related difficulties.
Having worked in residential care for 12 years with children who had experienced great emotional pain, loss and unmet needs. During this time, I recognised the importance of creating safe, consistent spaces where young people could feel heard, understood and supported rather than judged. Simultaneously, I also became a parent, which further encouraged my decision to train formally as a therapist so I could understand and offer deeper psychological input.
I work from a trauma-informed, integrative approach, drawing primarily on person-centred, humanistic and psychodynamic principles. This allows me to understand how early experiences shape present emotions, behaviours and relationships, and to support young people in developing healthier coping strategies, emotional regulation and resilience.
I am passionate about helping young people make sense of their experiences, strengthen their sense of identity, and build more hopeful futures. My work is grounded in compassion, professionalism and a genuine belief in each young person’s capacity for growth and change.
