My Approach
My approach is trauma-informed, relational, and grounded in the realities of residential care. I understand that behaviour is often a form of communication, shaped by a young person’s experiences, relationships, and unmet needs. Rather than focusing solely on managing behaviour, I support teams to understand what sits beneath it and respond in a way that is consistent, therapeutic, and effective.
I work collaboratively with staff to create a shared understanding of each young person, helping to build confidence, consistency, and a more supportive environment. My focus is on making therapeutic approaches practical and usable day-to-day, ensuring staff feel equipped to manage challenges as they arise.
By supporting both young people and the wider team, I aim to help create stable, nurturing environments where positive change can happen, and placements are more likely to succeed.
